Wind Energy Potential in India
Wind is intermittent and site-specific energy resource therefore wind resource assessment is essential for selection of potential sites. The national institute of wind energy (NIWE) has installed over 800 wind monitoring stational all over India, at height of 50 m, 80 m and 100 m above the ground level. The India’s gross wind power potential above 100 m from ground level is 302 GW.
