Earthing conductor
The galvanized steel conductor is generally used as
earthing conductor.
There are two methods of providing earthing conductor
for transmission line
( 1 ) Continuous earthing conductor provided over the
transmission line
- It provides continuous low resistance path for earth leakage current necessary for protection system
- To reduce effect of induced voltage for adjacent communication lines under fault conditions
( 2 ) Individual earthing conductor at each pole
- It does not provides continuous return path for earth current but it reduces the effect of induced voltage for adjacent communication lines under fault conditions
