The Ministry of
Power, Government of India announced Integrated Power Development Scheme ( IDPS
) on December 2014 for the following purposes.
- Strengthening distribution and sub – transmission network in the urban areas
- Metering of Distribution transformer / feeders / Consumers in urban areas
- Underground cabling as per State demand
- Smart metering for performing UDAY ( Ujjaval Discom Assurance Yojana ) states and Solar panels for Government buildings with metering
- Scheme for enterprise resource planning ( ERP )
- IT enablement for distribution sector and strengthening it under R – APDRP ( The Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme ) for 12th and 13th plans.
The Power Finance Corporation is nodal agency for IDPS
